5 Things I Learned in Mexico that Improved my Job-Searching Attitude

Last week, I returned from a 17-day trip to Southern California and Tijuana, Mexico. I had just graduated with my Master's degree in New Media Studies from DePaul University on Father's Day, and hopped on a plane the very next day to begin my post-grad adventures, visiting family and doing some soul-searching. Seeing as I wouldn't be able to take this amount of time off of work after landing a job, I embraced the opportunity during the transition from graduation to starting my career.

Now that I'm back home and have filled out about 30+ job applications, I've had enough time to reflect upon my experiences and found a way to apply them to my attitude towards the ever-so-tedious yet necessary task of job-hunting. After all, making the most out of any experience means taking the lessons with you wherever you go, right?

Does the web ruin everything? Why print comic books might be better than their digital counterparts

Finals week is over for me, which means I have time to create more content for which I know you've all been dying to read. No need to pine any longer. Since my mind is trying to get out of school mode, I thought I would write about something that has more a fun aspect to it - also because I just wrote a 4000+ word report about it. What is this fun topic, you may wonder? None other than comic books and graphic novels - more specifically, print vs. web. Comic geeks, Scott McCloud fans, and literature enthusiasts, prepare to criticize!

How I'm Trying to Get Back in the Game

In case you haven't noticed, I've been away for quite some time now. I know, I know - you missed me. While I do apologize for not doing a very good job of maintaining my online presence, I'm going to force myself to hop back on, and stay here, in 2013. While I do admit to losing my touch, I vow to not be forgotten on this little world we call the internet.

My intention is to keep this blog focused on social media, internet marketing, new technologies, and everything in between. However, you may find a more personal post every once in a while, just to keep things interesting (or not, it's your call). All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy, right? Besides, us humans enjoy talking about ourselves way too much, so how could I not share a little bit about myself with you? In any case, read on to learn what I've been up to and how I'm trying to recover the absence of new posts.
